I think I liked it...I enjoyed reading the book too. I think I liked it even better after I learned about Christopher Curtis and his background growing up in Flint, MI.. I didn't really get the angel scene either, because during that time I am sure that the Watson's lived in an all black community. As Momma says early in the book "things aren't perfect, but people are more honest about the way they feel" (6) I took that to mean that at least in the South you know who the enemy was and in the North the enemy was hidden.
